Kentucky Equality Federation and Jordan Palmer

The Kentucky Equality Federation was founded by Jordan Palmer in 2004 and is the only, original statewide LGBTIQ+ gay civil rights organization remaining. We assist and act as public advocate for people who have been bullied, discriminated against, or victimized in addition to assisting them with legal remedies. When the laws have not caught up to the moral needs of society, we will seek their modification, pursuant to the creation of a just society.

Discrimination

The end of discrimination is not simply the elimination of flagrant abuses, instead, it is the ability of a person to fully exercise their Kentucky human rights to the same full extent enjoyed by their peers, without fear of retribution, aspersion, or harm, be that harm political or social.

Kentucky Equality Federation and Jordan Palmer's Defend EqualityThe history of the Kentucky Equality Federation and Mr. Jordan Palmer

Jordan Palmer founded the Kentucky Equality Federation in 2004 as a statewide organization to fight for LGBTI+ rights ("gay rights"). Along the way, both Jordan Palmer and the Kentucky Equality Federation have made significant impacts on Kentucky history.

From protesting former Governor Ernie Fletcher and later Representative Fischer for saying "gays had not suffered enough", sponsoring a Soulforce Equality Ride, forcing school boards to allow Gay-Straight Alliances, rallying at Northern Kentucky University and the Hazard Pavilion, forcing policy changes, organizing Kentucky's 1st Gay Marriage License Day, assisting in restoring KADAP, to successfully pushing the 1st Federal Hate Crime convictions in U.S. History, to having Kentucky's same-sex marriage ban struck down by a Kentucky judge months before the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on the issue in Kentucky Equality Federation v Commonwealth of Kentucky (based solely on Palmer's legal theory).

The accomplishments of the Kentucky Equality Federation, as well as Jordan Palmer, speak for themselves, and his impact on Kentucky history, is undeniable.

Jordan Palmer also fought Prop 8 in the state of California.
