July 16, 2021 (Hyden, KY) — In ongoing discussions with the Leslie County Board of Education regarding school prayer, discrimination, and other issues at Mountain View Elementary, the Kentucky Equality Federation gave a green light to the school painting over all drawings and art projects on the wall outside Mountain View Elementary School.
The wall is now entirely white.
The decision was made by Kentucky Equality Federation President Jordan Palmer with Leslie County Board of Education Counsel Cheryl U. Lewis.
“I think everyone in the community will be pleased the entire wall is now covered as myself and attorney Mary Ann Miranda continue negotiating with counsel representing the Leslie County Board of Education,” stated Palmer. “We continue to work in good faith to avoid expensive litigation.”
